You are not alone! Please no more Cubs! There were other light planes in the 40s and the 7AC was one of the prettiest.

Default Aeronca Champ

I have a 1/4 scale Aeronca Champ built but not flown. Has not had a motor mount on it yet. Was built about 5 yrs ago and covered with cloth. Needs all servos, gear and motor to finish.
Asking $450 + shipping. WS 100" .

If you want a 1/4 scale champ AA industries/bud nosen makes one that can be powered with a 60-90 engine. I have one in the box waiting until I can get time to work on it, and since I have 3 kits to build before I get to that one it will be a while. Don't forget about the Cessna 120/140. I would really like a 1/3 scale one since I own a full size 140 and I kinda need a model of one.

Don't want to offend anyone but that AA industries/Bud Nosen kit is junk. There's also an Ikon nwst kit but they've had bad press too.

Bob Holman plans has a plan for a 40 sized Aeronca Champ. It is an older plan, and you will want to update some of it, but it is a good start. Dzl

I've been flying the A&A/Nosen smaller version for over 10 years. I don't remember any particular problems with the kit. At 60" span (?), it flies fine with an Enya 46. MalcolmL

Sorry, I don't know who handles Bud Nosen/A&A kits. When I bought it over 12 years ago, I think it was direct from an A&A ad in a magazine - probably RCM. Maybe someone on this thread knows - or you could start a new thread. Good luck. MalcolmL

I am looking for a large scale Aeronca 7AC also. The one AA has is not the old 7AC. It is the newer version. The smaller one is an authentic 7AC. I learned to fly in this airplane in 1952.. I intend to build the smaller version, for electric power.

Here is another suggestion I received when I was looking for 40-sized Aeronca plans:

SPPS Scale Plan and Photo Service. The number is in Model Aviation every month. Ann's got a plan for you.
