Default Sig Citabria

I just purchased a Sig Citabria that was already built from a kit. It has a O.S .046 SF engine in it and wing span is 69". I would like to here from some other people who have one what the flight characteristics are. I need a gentle flyer.

I was flying this past weekend with a good friend of mine
and he was flying his Sig 40 sized Citabria that he's had
for several years.

His is finished in red ,white and blue just like what's on
the box it came in. A real handsome aircraft and it flies
quite well and appears to have no hidden nasty habits
but is not a windy day flyer.

I had one almost 20 years ago powered by an OS 45 FSR and it was a gem. It was easy to fly, to land, to do touch and go's but a little underpowered for serious "Airbatic"s. Mine was finished as VH-ITG an Australian Decathlon that was at Bankstown just outside Sydney finished in star burst red and white scheme. There was little difference between the planes and I loved the colour scheme right up to the time I came to do all the 1/16 black striping around the stars - even on the wheel pants!! I had the plane for 2 years in Singapore and actually used to fly off the main runway at Changi with the local club before they opened the new airport. Had it back in Oz for a few more and then sold it. I have no photos of the model, just these of the full size one - in case I build another, its on the list but so are 50 others!

You can read a review of the Sig Citabria at:

Don't let the "Can't find webpage" stop you, just let the page load and click on kit reviews etc........
