RE: Arsitocraft f3f-2 biplane with retracts
I just got this model yesterday. It is all framed up and nicely built but my plans are tore up. How does the wing attach to the wires? I hope you guys are still reading this thread because I will probably have a lot of questions trying to get this thing finished.

Cocobear, just curious as to where you found your color and code combination? According to the source I found, your plane is identified as 6-F-6, the sixth plane of Fighting 6 which would have been attached to the USS Enterprise(CV-6). Being the third plane in the second section, it should have a white band around the bottom half of the cowl and no fuse stripe if your plane is modeled between 1937 and early 1941. During that time, the Enterprise air group had true blue tail feathers. If I'm seeing the colors you used correctly, yours has black tail feathers which would have your plane attached to the USS Wasp(CV-7) as plane 7 of Fighting 7, section leader for the third section. This information was found at http://www.researcheratlarge.com/Aircraft/YellowWings/
REGARDLESS of whether the colors match or not, it's a fantastic looking plane that anyone would be proud to have in their hanger

The f3f-2 still lives....the retract battery has died so I ordered a new one. The currect battery is a nicd 1/4 AA and the new one is a AAA 1/4 nimh. I never thought this plane would have lived this long. It has been flown every year a couple of times since having been built.
