ORIGINAL: ALO 111

I still have a kit Nib and considering making it the next project. I had a look at the plastic parts for the first time today and i can see why many people are going with the fiberglass parts. Just like to know if anyone. used the plastic ones. Also what do you guys think of usie the Asp 160 twin motor. I think it might just fit.
ANYONE ?

I want to give a special thanks to the folks at Horizon Hobby. I brought my TF Bonanza to SEFF a few months ago and ran into a guy named Tim Lampe who stopped over look at my build. I mentioned that the plane was in a bad crash and the only remaining indication was a cracked side window which I could not replace since the plane was out of production. To my surprise. I learned that Tim actually wrote the manual for this plane and offered to track down a replacement. After several emails letting me know that he did not forget, I received free of charge a complete set of windows after two weeks. My Bonzana looks like new again!

This happened a year ago - I was flying on a very windy day with about 15 MPH crosswinds. I made the decision to land w/o flaps which meant I came in hot. The plane bounced on the landing and the cross wind lifted the right wing. I tried to power out, but the plane did a wing tip stall and kartwheeled. All is good now.

Thanks much - that replacement window helped wipe away any indication that the plane broke apart.

Has anyone used the plastic parts instead of the fibre ones ? the fibre parts are going to cost me a fortune to get here. I still have the plane nib with robart retracts. I am looking at using the Asp 160 twin as it is a bit smaller and might fit in the cowl.

I have two bonanza's. I used plastic on one and fiberglass on the other. The fiberglass is much easy to work with and more sturdy. It is worth the upgrade in my opinion. Too bad the shipping will probable cost more than the parts!

Sorry, but Tim Lampe is with us at Great Planes/Hobbico. Horizon Hobby is a completely different company that has no relation. Top Flite is one of our brands. Other than that, thanks for the kind words, and I'll let Tim know. We're all glad to help people out whenever we can!

Bill - thank you so much for the correction... so sorry. The Horizon booth was located next to yours - I should know that the TF brand is Great Planes/Hobbico and not theirs. Once again - my hat is off to the great customer service you guys provided and all the efforts of Tim Lampe You will always have my appreciation.

Is anyone interested in a TF Bonanza kit? I found a guy cleaning out his stock, as he is tired of building and is going ARF only. Looks like everything is in the box, and maybe even some extra wood as it is too full to close all the way!

I will speak to him. We are in Jacksonville Fla. I don't know what he will want for it. What do you think it would be worth? I will try to get an answer by tomorrow night.

Hello again folks. I have news, some good , some bad. I opened up the box and it looks like everything is in there, including the manual, and all the plastic parts still wrapped in the tissue paper, except for one major item, the plans! If you still have access to your old plans, it should be ok. If not, I have a set from my plane, but since someone else built it, and I got who knows what, I don't know if they are all there. If that is a problem, my friend says he knows some where to get them copied. He wants about $180.00 plus shipping. Let me know what you think guys.

Would you suggest the 3/8" or the 1/2"? Bronze, clear, or green?

It seems Kim does not want the Bonanza, so it is still for sale. Don wanted $180.00, but will take $150.00 since it does not have the plans. That is more than enough off for anyone to order the plans from Top Flite. Thanks guys.
