Top Gun accept his but it seems FAI is still confused abpout it , well as for ARF and kits , i build some , i dont like it very much but i would love to go to any championship that is why i am concedering building IF this is how to get in.
I been flying for 7 years and in Egypt our community something close to 125 , and in the gulf area i dont know how you did not do any RC they are a lot + jets too , i brought a jet once in Egypt but there i think they are all flying jets now

Ok According to this photos what is the different between this and the Composit-ARF P-51 Mustang??????

Good question. I suspect that the most honest answer is BUILDING TIME. I'd guess that they Composite ARF could be assembled and finished in a month, while it might take 6 months or longer to complete and finish the BVM "kit."

Since BVM jets regularly take top honors at TopGun and are being built and flown but some of the top modelers in the US, I have to believe that they is a ton of work that goes into making one of these. Probably far more work than I've put into my "little balsa stick" Snipe.

I was in in the Gulf from 1983-1994 so maybe there wasn't so much RC at that time. Also when I was in Saudi I was in a remote area down by the Yemen border. Any RC clubs would probably have been in cities like Riyadh or Jeddah. I didn't hear of RC being done in Kuwait or Oman and never saw any building materials for sale anywhere.

As for RC at the time you mention yes it would not be very popler like today , i was in Miami last August and guess what i tried so hard to get any information about the flying field and i faled + a hobby shop , finnaly i got the hobby shop last day there before i leave and it was closed.

As for the BVM and Compsit-arf well for me they look the same but as you said it is a matter of time well i guess i can get it and build it in 6 month no problem

I have been silent so far on this subject (unusual for me! lol) but looking at the name of the forum, Scale, it doesn't specify HOW the Scale plane is construced. That simple fact makes all other discussions moot.

I'm not saying you can't argue the merits of building kits vs AFR's but I don't think it has any thing to do with "Scale".

Well i need to say that i am not talking about this for our own i amtrying to understand and to make it clear for others who might ask the same question IF we or I get a scale kit and build it would that be acceptable in the FAI world championship???

And you are right they did not say how it should be build they only said the compatitior is the builder then the compatitior must declare what items he did not make??? with no precentage on what he made and what he did not , beside what is the situation of the JET models well i send again to the FAI and i will let you guys now what is going on .

Ahmed. thanks. I do know that jets are part of the FIA contest every year. To what extent they score I'm not sure but you can see for yourself on the net if you do a search.

I know, I know, ARF barf, hey they rime. Well in my case I have been running my tool and cutter grinding shop now for 25 years and all the time I have I want to fly. I started my shop so I could have the weekends off and I fly every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Well I try to, I am married and have one Daughter still at home but the wife is very cool about this. I buy planes people have built and convert them to electric power as I can only fly electrics here in Huntington Beach . So its large electrics for me and buddys I fly with. When it comes time to put something together I don't have much time so I pick out a cool ARF and detail it up just a little. Here is the KMP ME 109 I did an opening canopy, not a bad dash, some nicer retracts from Darrell at Sierra Giant Scale retracts. A few other little things to take the barf out of the ARF. I have never intered a contest so I am not saying these are contest worthy but I do get a look now and then. Oh this big ol Stinson Reliant was built by a man back in wiscosin and he never flew it. I di last sunday and loved it.

Bladerunner, that looks like a great Me109! Way better looking that my Kyosho one. I'd be thrilled to see this fly anyday. Heck, I'd be thrilled to see it sitting on the ground on the flight line!

BTW, where do you fly in Huntington Beach? It this anyone close to the power plant? I'm originally from "up the road" in Orange and flew out of a club in Corona. I don't know if I could get used to flying only electric though.

The park we fly at is in Cost Mesa called Fairview Park. Nice place to fly. We have been going to the new field up by irvine Lake now. You can fly gas there if you want to. I have been flying electrics now to long and just like them alot now that you can fly big planes electric. Here are a couple large electrics I fly.

Well they do a good scores but my question was from the very first about if the FAI will allow a composite kit to enter the compitation whatever the score is it seems they allow it , i was talking to some one from the FAI and he said just make it and come over so at least i can build this kit and try to see how it goes , you got what i mean??
