I've got that Champion kit, with plans - box opened a few times to look at - still has all the bagged parts - unopened.
Good quality wood -still has the original tapes on wood bundles - no warped parts.
The plans have a few tatters from being unrolled a few times. Has the Documentation info booklet and a rough photocopy of an RCM review from sometime back.
The balance point is marked between 2 3/4" to 4" back from the leading edge... airhog4

A.B.,
I am not currently selling my Champion or Davey kits of the Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser. I do have a set of plans that were once available from the now out of business, "Flying Models" magazine. However, I have no way of copying them as the nearest copy shop is in Charleston, WV.....a 4-hour round trip and I am in a powered wheelchair. I do have the "Flying Models" 1986 magazine with the original construction article. Champion Models, then Davey, later kitted this model airplane. By the way, these kits are very nice. You see one once in awhile for sale on the Bay.

A. B.,
Give me a few days to consider my options in this matter. I may be laid up in a hospital for three days this week. At any rate, I will definitely get you a copy of the 1986 "Flying Models" build article. Lots of construction photos in the article. The kit plans are rolled and the magazines plans are folded, I think. I will take a look at your club site when time permits.

Champion PA-12
Hey, all, just found this thread and glad to see it is still going! My Dad built the Champion 1/5 Super Cruiser and created a supporting scale documentation binder with photos of a full scale PA-12 he used for the cream & red scheme & markings. A brand new Saito Fa-100T is installed and it had a World Expert 72MHz radio. He entered the finished plane in a static scale contest and placed high (2nd?). The plane is now in my possession since my Dad passed away. When I moved, the movers said they would carry the wing for the PA-12, as well as a scratch-built Lockheed Little Dipper wing with them in the cab to prevent damage. However, one wingtip of the PA-12 wing broke internally. Neither plane was flown by my Dad & I do not intend to fly the Little Dipper; it will be displayed statically, possibly donated to the AMA or another museum with a dummy engine since it had a Saito FA-90T, which I removed. Soon, I plan to repair the PA-12 wingtip & fly it. Also, I do have the original box, plans, magazine article and marking templates used by my Dad. Photos of the plane my Dad built are attached. It does have struts with folding center supports, but I didn't bother to install them for the photo.
