Mweathers, I am currently flying 2 large spitfires, a yellow Mk XIV and a 1/5 pica. I did not build the pica, but it doesnt look to hard. You will have to do some carving and sanding like all pica kits but its not too bad. The pica flies very nicely and has no bad habits other than the tendency of all spits to be tail heavy and to nose over on grassy runways. You can see pics of the pica on my webpage. It is currently flying with a bme 50 turning a 21/10 prop. I did have to add 3 lbs of lead to it to balance, so keep the tail as light as you can.

Weathers, you should check out Brian Taylor 83" Spit, glass fuse available from Vic (Fw190) This is a 1/5.5 scale of the mark 7 through 9 variant and very accurate like most Taylor's designs

When JG payed a visit to So. Cal a couple of months ago, he brought over his spitfire and we did some serius air-air combat less the guns of course. I had a blast flying my fw190 against his spitfire... I know the fw190 had won the combat, but I am sure JG will tell you otherwise.... hehehe! darn, only if we had guns to prove who won!
