Hi folks,
Say, I just got my hands on a Byron Originals Beechcraft F33A kit, never been unpacked. I want to build this with retracts, but am unable to find any listings for the specific aircraft on any of the popular brands. This is a 60" wingspan, says .60 power. I plan on electrifying it.
Appreciate any links to
Thanks
Jack

Contact Robert or Spring Air and provide them with the model specs. They will be able to recommend which retracts will work with that model.
If you are going to electrify it (or use a glow engine in it ), I would use a 91 2 stroke engine or the equivelant electric power. Retracts add weight and if you decide to glass it, that will add more weight.
Bottom line - be careful you don't wind up with a "flying brick".

I built one of these 15 years ago for one of my customers. It had Rhom Air retracts if my memory serves me well. The wings were glassed and had operqtional nav lights. The plane flew very well on a OSFX .60. A 90 would hang way out of the cowl on the side. Just don't go over board on the paint and it will fly like most all of the Byron models, very well. I still own four of them. F-16, Staggerwing Beech, Beech Baron Twin, and my latest a T-28.
