completely forgot ive got a royal .40 size raiden new in box. just need to trace parts! will get to it this week. also traded a great planes military stearman and some cash for a beautiful .60 size corsair with retracts. air lines are rotten, but what concerns me is, no flaps! and non retracting tail wheel, and stationary gear doors, but lastly..... apparently no glass, but very well sealed and painted balsa with scratch built 3 blade scale wood prop.
Ive got to do some final tuning of my royal b-25's engines to insure reliability,
open the top of the wing on the b-17 and add inner wing tanks with also a 1 ounce header behind each FS-20 engine. add retracts flaps and aileron servo,
install servo heads and linkages on spirit of saint Louis as well as order some brodak silver dope.
what to do, what to do.

looks like copy rights office wants $200 an hour to do an in depth search and claims "this is too time consuming and wil probably take a 2 hour minimum".
I will have to email or call back and perhaps see if they can simplify things. FlyerinOKC the fun/head ache has only begun. There is always the opportunity to buy the copy right or pay a royalty fee. but then I must wonder would I owe boeing a fee for the b-17, b-25 etc.. ?

Carl William (Bill) Polvogt, Jr was a well known commercial and cartoon artist in the Golden, Colorado area through the 70's and 80's. He died in 1993. Was a friend of one of the original "Royal Products" guys and was hired to be responsible for all of the "conceptual art'' for Royal (America) products, including insert artwork and posters, box and labeling artwork, as well as any artwork on plans and manuals that were isometric or angle views. However, he had nothing to do with planviews, design, construction drawings or development.

Royal was the US importer for the Marutaka line of kits which were produced in Japan. Royal produced their own labeling, box art, etc. but the kits themselves were never manufactured anywhere but in Japan if I am not mistaken.

Royal also made their own version of the plans, which unlike the Marutaka version, included wing and fuse templates.
Ebay plan sellers who claim to be offering Royal kit plans, more often than not, are actually selling the Marutaka
version, which is not much help for folks wanting to build from plans.

went to a swap met on sunday and spotted a seller with about 5 or 6 royal kits, but most were in the old plain and simple royal kit boxes with minor purple detailing.
I know there was a p-38 new in box think she sold for $150, (rcgroups.com recently had one go for about $350 in same box)
Cessna skymaster for $150 got him to hold it for me just have to get funds together.
Royal hien/tony SR for $140 I think he took this home with him
Royal DC-3 I think some guy got it for $150 as well, was in the more commonly seen box with colorful art work.
and a royal Cessna 310Q I think he took it home as well.
If I didn't have almost $400 in bills due on sunday and barely making $5 profit I would have bought his kits.
Oh well next swap meet on the 25th of January http://www.rccd.org/Documents/2015_d...%20%202015.pdf

I am so glad that I can show some progress on a Royal kit, rather than just talking about it! Although I am putting this one away for a while to move to other projects that are not for this thread. It has gear now. I'll bet there are not many Royal Colt Jr.'s around. Especially that are bashed into a Tripacer![sm=wink_smile.gif].

Nice Colt.
C/L Stunt guys have a few cottage industry sources for small mufflers that are light, adjustable back pressure and small. I have many aluminum "tongue" mufflers and that woud make it so you could completely hide all of your exhaust but the outlet on the bottom.
I use Stuka Stunt Works for my custom stuff. They have a website and a forum. I think that little OS was a popular engine at one time for C/L and they may have the measurements.
