The guy thought it was a top flite kit and i mentioned it couldnt be becuase of the way it was built, for example, "Aluminum cowls, the wire landing gear, markings on the wood, the single stand for the fuel tank built above the center of the wing.
all point to royal!

fuselage and center of wing are painted silk, rest of the wing and control surfaces is monokote.
the landing gear is presently bolted to a piece of wood and has some shock absorbing set up,
fortunately i have a kit new in box and i looked at the plans and they show how to take the wire gear and make functional retracts!

Very much worth what you paid, it will look fantastic with a bit of restoration and TLC!

Pretty happy with today's progress.

Going to keep it 4s on 12x8 props as for it has plenty of power and speed and didn't even fly around at full throttle.

All up fly weight as pictures with the (2) massive 4500 mah batteries. Scale details "cockpit, vents, landing gear, doors, exc " heavier wheels and so on is a tick over 10 pounds.

Still light in my opinion as each zippy compact battery was exactly 1 pound each. Was in the air from about 5 min and landing the batteries had 64-67 % each left in them.

Needs some more trimming and expo installed and it should be just fine.

I may order some glaciers and see how they do. My last glaciers were about 100 watts and a few amps more then the other competitors batteries and smaller in size.

Hi All, I just listed my 19 year old Royal P-38 Lightning with twin O.S. AX 46's. I can't ship but I will be at the Perry Swap meet this March 4 and 5. The Royal P-38 was the first model I ever built (400+ hrs) and she is still flying perfectly! IGetting out of glow and this is my last glow model. Some very pretty planes on this thread! My Royal P-38 has 300+ flights on her. I recently built a Yellow Aircraft P-38 (over $7,000 and six month build) and lost it on the seventh flight. Go figure...

Hi all!,

I going to join this thread as well. I've been out of the R/C world for some years now, but I was bored some evenings at home so I thought how about building a model aircraft again!
As the Corsair is my favorite airplane, I've been collecting all kinds of info/drawings regarding the Corsair. I found Luke's thread about his Corsair build, and it made me fall in love with the Royal models.

I managed to get some drawings of the Royal Corsair 60 size and I'd like to build that one. I've build a TF Corsair quite a few years ago and I'm looking for a challenge to build something scale and good looking.

Does anyone by chance have some templates for for all the parts of the Royal Corsair?

Thanks in advance! And I love this thread, nice to see all kinds of Royal models!
