Default Gorgeous B17

A fellow club member's gorgeous B17 and the full page image appeared on the front page of a local newspaper's weekend magazine feature edition. One of two B17's he has built along with giant B24, B25 and B29 models. A real bomber model specialist!

That is a very nice B-17. I assume it is the Don Smith judging by the size and the glass parts. A few of us in the forums are also building this model. We formed a type of support group! I'm surprized just how many of these planes are in the New England area, and the North East in general. Would be great to get a bunch of us together for a B-17 fly-in! Should be able to have at least 8 of them, maybe 10.

Maybe that can be worked out sometime over the next year. Seems the guys working on them are all about at the same stage, so we should all be done about the same time.

Something to think about!

Default Texas Bomber Field

I am only the photographer but my friend with the B17 lives 20 miles south of me here in NY and actually into Pennsylvania. He has spoken many times of wanting to bring his 17 to Texas to fly with the herd of 17's there. Here in the far north it would be a gaggle of 17's but in Texas, a herd? Anyhow, it would be closer for him to travel to Texas than myself, at least 20 miles closer. Another view of his 17.

Great looking plane.I would love to have one that size.I took
my royal plans and had the blown up to an 8foot ws so I could
get it in the back of my truck and to the flight field.Maybe I need
a bigger truck.

Default Royal B17

Blow up a Royal 17 plans! How about electrifying the Royal kit as another of my club member's did?
It flies great with four cheap 05 car motors, using Grish 3 bladed plastic props.
