RE: CD ScaleDesigns Albatros CI build
I've set up a heat lamp that should bring the area up 10 degrees or so. I hadn't been using my usual means of heat the workshop, since that's a kerosene burner with an open flame! [X(] We've have an unusual cold snap the last couple of days. Today was probably a high of 60F and a low of 45F. The temp inside my Japanese house is usually not much difference from the temperatures outside.

Two problems with that:
1. I don't have a sewing machine.
2. I don't know anyone who does have a sewing machine.
At least the pattern looks right, though.

Anyway, maybe by the time the RCU photo upload is working again, I'll have my solution. It's not helping that it's taking FOREVER for the dope to dry (6Ëš C / 70% humidity). I put the last coat of dope (a 60/40 dope/thinner mix) on the threads 9 hours ago and it's still tacky.

Well, here they are online (ranging from about $180 to $350). But it really is odd that I don't recall ever seeing one for sale in any of the local stores. Have I just been turning a blind eye?

Frankly, I think my wife would split my head open with an axe if she found out that I bought myself a sewing machine to make rib stitches for a model.

Well, the dope has dried, but the whole thing now looks like a satellite map of the snowy Himalayas. What an enormous waste of time and materials this has been.

[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] The wax in the wax paper, seems to have been softened by the dope and has bonded in areas with the koverall. So I have to throw everything I've done for the past week away.
I'm going to take a break from RCU and from modeling.

Due to persistent problems with site maintenance on RCU, I've decided to continue this build on RCSB. I won't be posting any further updates here.
