Panel lines
 

I was wondering what size of chart tape to use for my panel lines. I tried 1/32 on a scrap piece and it did work well. Other post I have been reading state to use 1/64th. I find that that size is very small to use. I understand the concept of the panel line. There should be no gap between the panels. Would it look good with the 1/32 or should I go with the 1/64th?

It's really a matter of personal taste...I like the 1/64 th for most of my panels. I use 1/32nd sometimes for hatch outlines, and other things like hinges.

I've recently used 1/32" on some molds for a fuselage, and I think they'll turn out alright. When I try this again, though, I'll try 1/64" - I think this will turn out better. (I couldn't find any 1/64" at the time). :)

I've never heard of chart tape before. Can you tell me where I'd get this (even better if you know where in Oz!)

Any good art supply store will carry chart tape. White is the best color to use. Ex Cabuck

either size will work. It usually just boils down to what ya can find as it goes in spurts. there have been times I searched for 1/64th for 3 months or so and everyone was out so went to 1/32. the real thing is are your eyes good enough that you are going to see a 1/64th of an inch difference? so whichever you canget will work. Has anyone out there tried the decoration tape girls use on their nails:

$2 for 55 feet, lots of different sizes down to 1/64", seems like it would be worth a try.

We have a hard time finding the original Chart Pak tape around here and when you can find it on the web, it is sometimes at a premium price.
