RDS
Has anyone successfully used the RDS type of system for linkage on giant scale aircraft? RDS is the system that rotates like a u-joint to enable the linkage to be hidden. I've seen a thread with it being used on another site but want to know from more than one person that it works. Going to build a BT Spit 83" and the linkage system has me baffled even after reading several build threads on the other site.

RE: RDS
Thanks, but I'm looking for some input from those that have used them.

RE: RDS
I have used it on the ailerons of an 86" don smith ki 61 Tony (20 lb) and know of at least one other that applied the same method on that design. It works fine and is slop free. I find that it helps if you make the control surface removable- i.e. use robart hinge pockets or some sort of detachable hinge.
It works, no flutter or slop in the linkage and no exposed horn. Jeff |
