These are from our last fun WW1 get together in our club. We have decided to fly tomorrow.. Saturday August 17th at our field straight north of Elkhart Iowa, it is also straight north of Bondurant Iowa if that helps! our field is right on the south bank of the Skunk river you can't miss it. Anyhow we are thinking we will be flying around 4 pm or so.. some of the guys have to work.. If any of you have a WW1 bird you want to bring over feel free to attend.

Fingers crossed as always on wind conditions.

Here are the pics from last time..

Wow nice pictures. Could you tell me the size or scale of most of the planes. Tell me about your field.

The red DR1 is a plan built Ziroli 1/4 scale. The Bristol is a 1/5th arf, the brown DR1 is a highly modified Flair 1/4 scale. All the other planes are Balsa USA 1/4 scale kits. I didn't bring out my 1/3 Pup, and one other friend didn't make it with his 1/4 Nieuport 28.

Our field is pretty nice, there is a little more petrol mat than I care for, we used to have a nice swath of grass along the far side of the field, but the desire for crosswind runways sort of Ate that up...

We have a levy ditch on the North, and tall corn THIS YEAR on the South.. but we manage to have fun . I will tell you though, when I visit a field with long huge open grass area as well as a runway... I am envious !

Very nice. We may have that many 1/4 scale WW1 models in my club, but getting them all out at the same time seems to be impossible.

I am thinking about getting a BUSA N17 in quarter scale. I have a WW2 project to finish first, then I may start that.

I have been having lots of fun with my new Triplane. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1910059

You won't regret getting an N17, the guy in my club that flies one sure makes it look good in the air.

We had another unofficial WW1 day last week. I didn't get much for pictures .. we had a few on board cameras but I am afraid we didn't do so hot with our camera mounts.. the footage was pretty shaky, horribly shaky to be truthful.. such a waste !
