Here is a picture of a Bryan Taylor Typhoon in the spirit form :D . With a little imagination you will be able to tell what it looks like or maybe Chad will post a picture of his. This is definitely a model that is not over done. That is one of the things that appealed to me. |

The only one I have that you don't see very much, if at all is a Heritage SBD Dauntless still in the box.

unusual

now those are some rare kits and especially if you bash your kit into a different Mrk...ala spitfire. Your Dauntless is a very unusual kit. I have a buddy with the IMP Dauntless , framed up with all thge bells and whistles. Those SBD are showstoppers. The only showstopper and chin rubbers I have right now within dreaming distance of flying are my Macchi 202 Folgere, the Jack stafford B24, The old Midwest He162 and a Wiing Hellcat. these are all glassed and awaitiing paiint. I think my favorite kit is the Old TF Hurricane. I found this one on ebay and it will be flyiing this time next year. I know there are more out there , so lets see them.

At last, another "I don't want another Mustang" warbird freak!! Here's my list of things I'd like to see:
IAR-80 PZL P-11C Douglas A-20 Dewoitine D-520 Curtiss P-36 Junkers Ju-88 Martin Maryland and Baltimore Lockheed Hudson Reggiane Re-2000 series Lavochkin La-5 Kawanishi H8K The list goes on. Not mainstream enough for a lot of people, though. I've got a Hawker Hurricane and Spitfire 24 in the works now. |

Here's what the Taylor Typhoon looks like a bit further down the road. K_sonn, I have some detail accessories for the airplane if you are interested, drop me a note. I also have a couple of Spits waiting in the wings and am working on the drawings for what I hope will be a truly unique warbird, a Supermarine Spiteful.

Well on my list is a Miss Ventage which is a world war I plane and she looks very good from the ground. Especially with an Enya 45 four stroker on her. Otherwise my list would be 190 folker,courseair,A-26B invader,C-119 (gunship Vietman), C-123 Druman, and also XC-120-FA Packplane. Find that one if you dare and you will be surprised  :D ;)

I know this isn't as different as you were asking for but here's a picture of my YA P-47 that is almost complete. The scheme is definately different from the typical schemes for a P-47. |

Soomething Different
Hi G-Man and fellow Warbird fanatics.
This plane was built from Palmer Plans, which have no use in the modeling community. The plans should be hung up and looked at. My buddy and I built two of these when we were looking for a new twin project. We simplified Palmers plans by cutting both foam cores for the wing and stab. The fuse was built according to plan as well as the fin and rudder. I originally had two OS 91 FX 2 strokes for power , but one engine would always cut out. My first 5 flights were single engine since one engine would always cut out. The plane was very managable on one engine. I changed both engines and put two OS 91 Surpasses in and never had a problem after that. The plane weighed 22 lbs. had flaps, robart retracts, full cockpit and glassed and painted with automotive enamel in the fire bomber scheme you see here. I use the past tense because a gentleman bought the plane and I no longer own it. To sum up Palmer Plans are not very builder friendly and his weight schedules would be fine if the plane was weighed on the moon ( 1/6 th the Earth's gravity LOL) The plane did fly well and the utline is pretty scale. I would not build anything from his plans again. Hope this helps. I will be posting Pics of my Scratch Built MB 5 in 1/5 th scale as soon as I get back to school and borrow the school camera. Thanks, Fred Menna |
