Sig Ryan STA

Does anyone know if there was a construction article on the SIG RYAN STA in any of the Model Airplane magazines back issues? Does anyone have digital pictures of the Sig Ryan that i can use for reference. Im trying to figure out where some of the plastic cosmetic parts go. The plan is not very clear on some things. Any help is appreciated with this build.
Thanks, Barzini

I believe the kit was based on a model published in a 1971 Model Airplane News article.

Here are some pics of the Sig STA completed

Drifter,
Thank you for the pictures. I am going to search for the magazine article. If anyone has it and can make me a copy that would be great. You did a beautful job.

Credit goes to Joe Portera ,a member of my club, who built and flies the Ryan. I just helped him get the kit.

I'm also building the kit right now. Would appreciate any comments.

To give you an idea of what kind of builder Joe is, the plane is covered in Monokote. The squares on the bottom were individually cut and applied one at a time.

Barzini.
I believe Model Airplane News did an artiicle on Maxey Hester's Ryan STA. I built the Sig kit many years ago and it flew great. It is powered with a Rossi .60 Which is plenty of power. It is very aerobatic and and does all the standard maneuvers . Especially Snap rolls. I snapped the wing off it. pulled the nylon bolts through the wing. I covered it with aluminum air conditioning tape And did it up from photos in a Sport Aviation mag. Made beautiful landings using full flaps. A fellow at a meet kept after me to sell it to him. Wish I hadn't. He never flew it. Has it hanging in his den. Good luck with yours. you'll enjoy it If I can find that article I'll send it to you.
