Dynaflight Chipmunk Squad

1 Attachment(s)
Myself and two friends, Mark and Mike, have just finished our winter project! Building a squadron of three Dynaflight Chipmunks. We modified them to accept Robart Retracts and made several other modifications. They are all powered by Fuji 32's and are all fiberglassed and painted with automotive paint. Each one weighs between 19.5 and 19.75 lbs. I added a sliding canopy, hidden wing bolts, and a hidden access panel in the cockpit floor that has all of the filler valves, switches, charge recepticle, retract guage and fill, hidden wing bolt access and a smoke system. I was the last to finish this project that started in the winter of 04'. Hope you like the pics. Thanks to Mark and Mike and Doug for all the help!

Apache Aviation in the UK sells a kit that's quite similar. Check out apacheproducts.co.uk
They have a full line of 1/5 Chipmunks and I have already built two of them

Thanks apalsson, I couldn't get the apacheproducts.co.uk to work by adding the www, or even doing a google search on the name. Any other links for that?

I will have to keep the Flair product on my radar scope too!!!

Here are a couple of photo's of my Dynaflite Chipmunk. Power comes from a Saito 180. Too bad this kit is no longer available as they are a real treat to fly. Rock solid flight performance at all speeds.

RE: Dynaflight Chipmunk Squad

i will not ever get a chance to fly the one i am building. a guy i know that is in the club where i fly gave me two kits in exchange for building this. i will get it to just about 90% or 95% and he will finish with engine and paint the trim and put a radio in it. i like building so i took up the opportunity. i did notice that in th kit instructions the elevator is not true to scale and alot of people modify it to look scale. what other scale touches did people put in. i sanded the elevators to a tapered shape as in the plans and instructions. and i am starting on the rudder and vertical stab. the elevator in the full scale has a balanced elevator but the kit does not and i may out of anal retension will modify the same thing. now granted this kit was already started and the horizontal stab was finished by the previous builder so i will have to cut on it if i should go that direction. nice planes fellas.

Nice looking bunch of planes. Does anyone know of a source for the bubble canopy common to the Canadian versions?

Thanks,

Click on the link, it was working a few moments ago.

Also, Bad news about FLAIR Products. They are going out of business. So, the future of the kits is a big question.

P-51B,

I think they are updating their website. Both addresses used to work but now they seem to be offline every now and then.
Their kits are good and I have found support to be excellent.
Both my N13Y and Pepsi Chipmunks came out quite nice.

Regards

Ari
