Scale Pilot
I'm sure this has been brought up before.
What scale are GI Joe's; 1/6, 1/7, 1/8, etc.? Does anyone know how precisely how tall (7", 8.5", 9", etc.) an action figure is to be 1/7 scale? By my calculations, I'm showing roughly 10" for a 6' person. |
Scale Pilot
GI Joe is 1/6 at about 12 inches tall

Note: I bought a Ken Doll 1/6 scale but upon weighing him he was a half of a pound!.....Sold him at the next RC auction!!!!!!

Scale of GI Joe
GI joes are horribly heavy and also not correct in shape. They do tend to be wider than they should be and harder to get to fit whre yhou need them.
There are other but more expensive pilots which will work much better...however in all cases you should gut them and replace the trunk and upper legs with a cotton or fiber filled fabric replacement. There are some really nice collectors series of scale pilots if you are willing to spend between 45 and 85 dollars for one. |
Scale Pilot
Scaleaero,
How about some info as to where to get those collectors series pilots. If they look good and don't weigh a ton, $85.00 isn't too bad. Thanks :) Greg |

Scaleaero,
I looked at the pilots that you sent me information on. They look great. They are worth the $. Thanks for your help. :D Greg |

Scale Pilot
Hello,
You can get very realistic collectible action figures in several WWII configurations for a lot less than $85. I have found these figures for between $35 and $40. Look for mint figures sold in "damaged" boxes for at reduced prices.Check the following sites (these are just a few, if needed I have many more!!): www.goodstufftogo.net www.monkeydepot.com www.gijoeelite.com www.valleytoys.com www.kbkids.com www.smallblueplanet.com BTw it doesn't seem to make sense to spend the money for these figures if you are going to cut them up. If weight is a problem just buy the uniform pieces and accessories and stuff them with cotton them buy an action figure head to top it off. Just my 2c. blkbird Fly man....Fly!!!! |
