WR450, The kit is available with about a 2-3 week lead time, as I am in the process of pulling more cowls and a new canopy mold. I will be out of town until Sunday evening, but will be checking my emails. If you send me your email, I can send you the necessary kit info and pricing. My email is [email protected].
Thanks for the interest

A short update, the skin on the rear part of the fuselage-bottom are installed and now we are waiting for the glue to dry so we can continue with the front part of the fuse. I will make a small change on the firewall because I will use the Moki 150 so I will make a former that looks like the second former, ie. it will go all the way out to the stringers. This drawing were supplied by John last night so this evening I will cut it from 6mm ply.
Hopefully I can send pictures of this tomorrow. then it is tome to turn the fuse up to start with the top formers.

see you.

Claes

RE: T-28 True 1/5 Scale

Johnny thank's for the email last night. I need to figure out what is involved in moding it to a T-28D Nomad. The B model brought the R-1820-86 engine into the picture so the powerplant is the same. The only real difference I see is the numerious hard points on the T-28D/AT-28D. Check out the link. [link=http://www.warbirdregistry.org/t28registry/t28-specs.html]T-28 variants[/link]

Specifications (T-28D)
General characteristics

Wingspan: 40 ft 1 in (12.22 m)
Height: 12 ft 8 in (3.86 m)
Wing area: 268 ft² (24.9 m²)
Empty weight: 6,424 lb (2,914 kg)
Max takeoff weight: 8,500 lb (10,500 with combat stores) (3,856 kg)
Powerplant: 1× Wright R-1820-86 Cyclone radial engine, 1,425 hp (1,063 kW)
Performance

Maximum speed: 343 mph (552 km/h)
Service ceiling: 39,000 ft (10,820 m)
Rate of climb: 4,000 fpm ()
Armament

2 or 6 × wing-mounted pylons capable of carrying bombs, napalm, rockets. machine gun pods containing .30 in (7.62 mm) (training), .50 in (D-model) or twin pods with .50 in (12.7 mm) and 20 mm (.79 in) cannon (Fennec)

This link is to a page about one of the specific planes I supported. I was in Camdodia at the airport in Phnom Penh the day it fell to Po Pot's Khmer Rouge forces in 1975. [link=http://www.flickr.com/photos/ozepixels/2064170407/in/photostream/]T-28D Nomad[/link] We moved the T28Ds from Cambodia to Loas which was shortly over ran. The rest of the story is that we moved 30+ T-28D aircraft to Thailand, many of which were mothballed and many were given to the RTAF. We were able to deliver all the C-47s and O-2s back to Udon Thani Royal Thai Air Force Base.

In addition to the hard points, I believe the cowl was modified with lateral streaks along both sides to help with stability when firing rockets or machine gun. This actually may have been on more modified C models. Externally the wing is the same with the exception of racks.

Short update Sunday afternoon, wife left for netherlands and will be back wednesday, fortionally I am lucky having a wife with a big interest in horses as a professional rider so that takes a lot of time so my project can continue even at evening times when she have lessons for students. another funny thing with my wife is that she know how to fly model RC, that`s the place where I meet her, she was flying a P-40 and a Supra Fly from Hanno Prettner.

Back to project, started with the center part of the wing at lunch time today and also continued with the upper formers on the fuse.

My dog are helping me to read the plans.......

the last photo are from the indoor arena where my wife use to train the horses, in wintertime we use to fly there with electrics.

Some pictures:

Short update, bottom of left and right wing are 50% covered with balsa. now I will put them up in a angle fixture to cover the rest.
Hopefully the wings will be totally covered until this weekend. I have to leave for France on Sunday but will be back on wednesday, will see if I can glue the wing halves together on tuesday so they will be ready for final installations next weekend.

have a nice time.

installation of engine room floor made today, glued with BVM hysol. tomorrow I will glue the walls to the fuse but first I have to install the reinforsement stringers from front to rear in fuse.

Maybe I will start to cut my modified engine firewall for the MOKI 150 tomorrow, will at least try to do the pattern for this so I can cut it tomorrow evening.

Jonny: any news regarding the new canopy?

I`ll be back....

RE: T-28 True 1/5 Scale

Saturday evening: stringers in fuselage glued in place. Engine room sides L+R glued in place with HYSOL to be able to take the load from the MOKI 150.

Leaving for France tomorrow, back on wednesday.

FIREWALL

Tuesday evening: made a new firewall from 1/4" ply. to carry the MOKI150. after some measuring everything seems to be ok. have decided to glue at least one pc. per day to not loose the speed. Hopefully the bird will be ready for fibreglass until christmas.

Today we have snow and it is time to bring out the snowmobile to play a little.

Have a nice evening

RE: T-28 True 1/5 Scale

Wednesday: today I picked up 2 ESM T-28 with MT 70 at the postoffice for me and a friend of mine. Those were ordered in April before I got to know about John`s T-28.
I will build one of them to be able to fly together with my friend next summer.

also mounted some bulkheads and some stringers on the top of the nose.

Today I reinforced the inside of the engine firewall with some epoxy and fibreglas. Will do the other side tomorrow before I go to my friends Christmas Party where we suppose to eat and drink all night until I will go to the next one with a supplier of mine on friday and then on saturday we are invited to my wifes family, might be a hard weekend without any building.

See you.

I love your work. You are using the power plant I would use and I am loving the build.

Here in the USA we have this little holiday called Thanksgiving where we eat ourselves to oblivion then lay around and moan. After we get that out of the way (tomorrow) we will start the Christmas parties.
