No, they don't. Already asked - my Byron G17 is in need of one also, and a tailcone. Unfortunately, IronBay is not answering any emails or phone calls. Have not heard from them in more than 3 months. Appalling customer relations.

Iron-Bay is now defunct I think also. Arch and Aaron have both left for new employment. I to have tried to call but only get the fax machine. I am glad that I was able to buld and fly numerous Byron kits over the years, and still have four of them now. I need only to paint my last Staggerwing to have it flying. hope to finish it over the winter. I love my T-28, and have built five of the Staggerwings, two for myself and three for customers. noticed I really like the Stagg. I hope someone will be able to get the molds and the steam foam molding machine back up and running again. I do not think it will be very soon though. If some one could make a mold from my canopy or cowl, I would be willing to help if I can, as long as it does not destroy either.
Gary

Thanks Gary, for the offer now I just need a craftsman who can mold them from the parts with out destroying it. (thinking out loud wonder how close the new TF beech arf is to the byron, do you think the cowl and or window set would work?)

I have an old cowl from my passed on Byron Staggerwing. When I changed the motor it in years ago I fitted a new cowling. I will see if I can find it and post a picture for you to check if you are interested in it. Hate to hear Iron Bay is out.

I'm sorry to say the TF Staggerwing is smaller than the Byron model. The Zeroli is larger. I do not believe either would be a good fit.

Would you happen to have the tailcone as well? I would be interested in that piece (the cowl too, but I see TG600 already weighed in on it)... :)

I think I have the tailcone but will have to find it. I will look for it later today. Here are the pictures of the cowl. As you can see I also have two spinner cones and 1 back plate it any one of you need these. I flew the Byron Staggerwing for 13 years before it went in and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a great plane and looks so good in the air. No reasonable offers refused of course TG600 has first dibs on the cowl. The cowl does have some scuffs on the bottom. It used to have a ST3000 inside then after wearing it out changed it to a OS FT300 that is when I went to a new cowl. I still have the 2nd cowl i think, but is damaged signifcantly due to the crash but will check it to see if it could be repaired and used again.

No second cowl. The one that was on the plane when it went in was nothing but mush. It has been thrown out quite a long while ago. Sorry, I had forgotten that earlier.

Wonderful - will you take $10 for the tailcone?

Old scale guy, Looks like you had your Stagg painted as "Big Red". UI had the priviledge to fly that plane at the Tulahomma, Tenn. Staggerwing Beech museum many years ago. John Paresh owned it then. I would asume he still does. Beautiful airplane.

RE: help with byron staggerwing

Gary, yes it was Big Red. I spoke to John several times during the build and early years of flying. We always wanted to get the two planes together but never was able to coordinate that.
Navy Flyer, will consider your offer, with shipping costs being what they are today.

Navy_Flyer 11-14-2006 01:47 PM

RE: help with byron staggerwing

Sorry OSG - I misrepresented myself with the $10 offer - it did not including shipping, and I made the "ass-u-me" mistake that you would understand I was offering only for the part itself. Of course I will pay you for the shipping! So that said - will $15 cover the cone and shipping ?

Navy Flyer, that sounds fair. Thanks.

That was quick. Sometimes the good ole USPS comes through. Glad you like it. Enjoy! How about posting a picture of your plane when it is finished?
