C/R Props

1 Attachment(s)
I built an Aeromarine 56" Apache with stock weedeater motor connected to an older Eastcraft Marine twin drive gearbox running
C/R A.M.P.S. outdrives with 52mm 2 blade alum props. GPS'd at 20.4 mph.

My question (I'm sure has been asked many times before) is I want to use 3 blade C/R props, either alum or s.s. but I don't know what size to start with or who to contact? If I drop some mph I don't mind as I want the scale look of 3 blases. The max. dia.
for the outdrives is 54mm. I can't go with a more powerful motor as the u-joints on the outdrives are made of plastic so no damage to the outdrives will occure if an object is hit (I broke 1 and was lucky enough to find a gentleman who had some).

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Hi 340cudaman,

She has a good scale look going on there - that trailer looks impressive also. One of my favorite boats is the 56" apache. You have a bit of a challenge with plastic universals - sounds like it will always be a weak link for you. I would certainly keep a spare handy to avoid your day ending early with a failure.

Loudonville - I went to Siena some time back :)

I would give Chris Hoffman a try for some props. He might have something that small in a counter rotating setup. He is well known and regarded for prop experience (and he is a fellow NY'er). His e-mail is Dasboata @aol.com

Thank you for the site Deathwish. It looks like it for electrics, but will e-mail them to see if any of the props they have will work.

Thanks for Chris Hoffman's e-mail. I'll write him and see if he can help! The Gentlemen that had the u-joint had 4, so I bought all 4, now I have 3 spares.

Siena, I live about 2 miles south of the college near the Albany City line.
