well deck ramp
1 Attachment(s)
On the current hovercraft the central deck is used to carry various things including a landrover so i would like to replicate this but the ramp was never motoriesd only hand winch so would there be something in the model world that would keep the ramp up and at the same time allow the landrover to drive off easily see picture

RE: well deck ramp
When I had a look at the ramp on the landing craft at the museum at Birkenhead (now sadly no more since the accursed development yuppies bought the site) it had a single line, fixed to the hull port side, across the ramp and led back to the winch. It would drop under gravity.
The same arrangement should be OK using a small servo converted into a winch. Limit switches are not needed- just stop raising when its fully up. Alternatively, an unconverted servo will do the job with a push-pull linkage, just relying on your touch on the control to set the speed of raising/lowering. |
RE: well deck ramp
not really what i was after as the push pull linkage would be seen i could use one of those tiny electric motors from the small rc cars and do it that way

RE: well deck ramp
I extended the arm on a servo, and attached a control arm to the ramp.
