Rotating Radar Mechanism?
Hello, Boaters!
I am working on 1/200 Trumpeter Sovremenny. I want to install a rotating radar. I know that it should use gears for the proper rpm. But I don't know how and where I should install gears, motor, battery for the morot, etc. Could anyone give me ideas with some pictures (if available), please? It iwll be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your attention. |
RE: Rotating Radar Mechanism?
Take apart a micro servo, and remove the gear stop.
Also remove the pot and the circuit board, reassemble the servo, and wire the motor directly to your power source. Use a thin wire to connect the servo to your rotating radar head. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...G1Bw&q=sdm+tug You can see the wire connection at the pilot house just below the radar. If you find a servo isn't working for you, these gear motors are also available. http://www.gizmoszone.com/shopping/storepro5/agora.cgi |

Thank you very much for your responses!
I will try what you guys said. Thank you again! |
RE: Rotating Radar Mechanism?
there are several micro heli's that use a small motor for the tail rotor you could try those also. And I just had another thought get one of those zip-zaps from radio shack, they have very small motors and all kinds of hop-ups, for gearing etc not too terribly expensive since I would hate to have to pay the freight for a micro servo just to tear it apart.

Hi, Fooman 2008!
Thank you very much for your response. I will try a Radio Shack, as you recommended. And then, if I don't find out that I need, maybe I should order some gears from the copany the other guys recommended. Thank you again, everyone for your advices! |
