RE: dynamic diver delima
I've got it! Eureka! I'll sell my electric guitar, and besides, I play alto sax anyway. I have an amp that will sell for 100-150 easy, not including the guitar and case.

The things that a man has to sacrifice for this hobby...
Anyways, it's great that you have obtained some funds so far. With a little more money you can even invest in a nice radio system.
Nice poll BTW!

Cool. Your all set then. But even with the money, I'd save some more so you can prepare for
some "unexpected difficulties." I usually do that If I plan to build anything for the first time.

Uh, if you put the WTC and stuff in, then you should just build the sub around it. For easy access
Make it calked shut or try screwing it in.....
Hmmm, That didn't sound right.... Nemo, I know you're here. Could you put all this in better terms?

Well, modelers have several ways to deal with the situation. In the end, it all comes down to how your sub's hull is split. Here are some basics:
1. If your sub's hull is split at the waterline (horizontally), magnets would work but be sure to use strong ones since you wouldn't want your deck floating out and upsetting your sub's buoyancy. I personally like a latch system or even simpler, use friction to your advantage! Here's what I mean:

2. Another popular method would be to have the hull split somewhere along its vertical axis, this layout is especially suited for large scale submarines such as the Robbe U-47. In this case, the use bayonet rings is a popular choice in Europe, although they can be quite expensive to obtain. A cheaper option would be to adopt a concept similar to opening and closing bottle caps: with one half acting as a screw and the other the receiving end.

RE: dynamic diver delima
maybe there are a few idea's in these links (especially a diy seal for a pushrod) :
[link=http://home.vianetworks.nl/~raalst/kilo/kilo.html]my kilo build[/link]
since all action happens on the aft end of the wtc, a bottle of sorts made from sturdy plastic
with a plastic lid should be usable (then you do not need these end-caps)
and a film about current performance. please note I will be starting version 3 of this boat
to get it right...
