Default Engel Gato sub

Two years ago i bought the SS 212 GATO sub kit from ENGEL I am just now getting around to take a look at it unpacking etc.....WOW did I bit of more than I can chew. I did not realize what I was getting myself into. I do not understand any of the instructions or where to even began. Its way above me. Has anyone out there ever done this sub.
I do not think that I can handle this kit. Any advice that anyone can give me would be great.

Hi,
Yes, I have built one, along with a Lafayette and a Russian Typhoon. The Gato is not a good beginners boat, however, take your time and it will turn out fine. I do not know what dive system you have, Tmax, TAES, TAE but they are all good and reliable systems.

Again, take your time and read the instructions carefully, many times over. You will be fine.

I have the TAE dive system with the retract mech. for bow dive and the Mini-Pitch controller.
You dont by any chance know someone on line that shows the build do you.
Thank You for the reply

I am finishing the drives & rudder on mine. Went with the Pill Bottle & sealing caps from Kenny Drug stores. The caps do a very good job of sealing on the shafts and the rudder actuation rod. Plus they allow for instant opening for any reason. Odd but OK. More bottles hold the RC gear. Have 1 set up for the the bow planes to work.
I really like being able to keep the hull in 2 pieces permanantly. Design & maintainance are easy.

Caswell has a great forum for building submarines. The Revell Gato is one of them. They sell the David Merriman sub driver. David has a special place on the web site for Gato instructions. The forum membership is free and very good for collecting building information on subs. I have four subs all using david's sub drivers and caswell products. Check this site for building info

Here's the Cabal reports for building instructions:
