Microtech Sub
Hello I also want to know have any of you played with a Megatec sub,,,, the white one with the lights in the front. Looks like a mini Mako sub. I got one for 30 bucks on ebay,, just to experiment with it I got another Walmart Sub on Ebay. the only full size RC sub will be my scratchbuilt PVC freestyle scale model. I noticed in the pictures of the make with it's nose cone off.. is that a fiberglass circuit board?? looks well made. Thanks TOm.

Microtech Sub
I forgot what kind of motors are in this sub? Are they coreless pager style motors or the same ones used in the Walmart Sub. I hope one of you guys lets me know something about these things. Thanks Tom.

These mini subs use brushless motors. Same as the ones used on the X-sub (yellow mini sub) circling the Wal-Mart sub.

ORIGINAL: shaneperch Ok this may be a stupid question,,,, BUT,,,, arethe motors on the outside in those pods or are they inside kinda like the walmart sub driving a gear train and linkage to those pods? and what do they sound like our of the water? quiet? Thanks Tom They are mounted on the outside of the mini sub body. Here's a few pics that you requested in your previous posts. Pic#1 is a view of the Ocean explorer 2 electronic board. The round metallic object you see at the bottom part of the sub is a 1/3 AA X 3 or 3.6 Volts Ni MH battery. Pic#2 is aview of the led wirings in the mini sub's nose cone cover. Pic #3 is the on/off terminal contacts. You must apply CA super glue to this area to keep these contacts from "sinking" into the sub's hull. |
RE: Microtech Sub
Thanks that is helpful.. Not too bad inside. I bet that is what a megatech kinda looks like.

RE: Microtech Sub
I also was reading about these subs and the discription reads that in case of radio contact being severed the engines will stop and the unit will blow ballast and rise to the surface? They are talking about a ballast system of sorts? I looked at the Ebay auction that I won, and looking at the pictures it is a new control submarine but he describes is being a Megatech,,, though the transmitter that comes with it needs 8 AA cells and looks like an RC car transmitter with joysticks, I don't know,, confused I hope I get the good one. Thanks for the info once I get under way with my PVC unit I won't keep focusing on this liittle unit don;t mean to wear out a thread.. but I am so new to this submarine stuff it is all learning for me thanks again Tom.
