1) how deep can the Mako Mini sub go?
2) can i put bigger props on Mako Mini sub?
3) are the seals good or bad on the Mako Mini sub?
5) what kind of battery dose it use?

Hey Iceman Yes the sub goes 3 feet

I don't know about the props there are shrouds on them if you want to cut the shrouds you could install bigger props

The speed is 50 ft per minute

The seals I hear suck but can be easily repaired

It uses 4 AAs for the sub and one 9V for the transmitter.

I just got mine from Ebay and I am really impressed with it and the motor pods go up and down to submerge or to surface.... any more questions let me know thanks Tom.

1)I have taken mine don to 11 feet without leaking..or it did start to leak but open the hull and let it air out, it will work after a few hours..
grease the crap out of the seal in the front!!!!!!
2)Why would you want too? it's fast enough!
3)Sucks..those seals suck due to a lack of grease..regrease them... :-) enough said there.
4) range is about 20 feet surface, the best was about 50feet
5) Alki batteries only..Nicad or Nims are too heavy..

about 30 minute runtime..
awsome to use at night!!!!!

I also have a question if anyone answers.

My Mako Min-Sub is not receiving the signal from my remote control.
I think it may be a wire problem. Any theories?

Brandon:

I bought one about this time last year before I went on vacation to play with in the pool. It worked surprisingly well for the first 3 or 4 runs and I enjoyed it. Then ... nothing.

Turns out the Mako is a "leaker" ..... and the radio was soaked. You'll need to pull off the body covers and nose and let the water out and let it air dry for a couple of days before trying it. If you're lucky, it might work. My first one didn't so I took it back to the store.

The second was much better ... it lasted maybe six sailings before it quit due to water coming in around the nose seal. I was lucky this time and the radio worked after drying out and I took precautions to seal the nose with liberal amounts of silicone grease. I managed to get maybe a dozen runs with it and it leaked again.

Now its sitting torn apart in a box awaiting my next few spare moments to mess with it, but my motivation level to do anything with it is at a standstill.

On the plus side, I could do a roll with it underwater, had a reasonable speed and it was easy to see with the LED in the nose and bright colour.

Lee,

Thanks for the info. I think my sub though has bit the dust. I have been trying to dry it out for many days. Mine lasted for about 10 runs, then I stopped using it because my "lake" was frozen. Anyway, the plus to this sub I think is the price. I can get it for about 29.99-39.99 canadian.

S.H.P (Stealth Hover-Pod)
[Designed as a Flying-Sub]
This little beauty includes a fully submersible pressurized cabin, that can jet accross to surface like any other jet-boat, yet can submerge to any level up to 600' below the surface, and take to the air like a genine F117-A Stealth Fighter Jet! This is the scaled model. The Final Upgrades are to include Hydorgen Fuel Cells for the Electric Power, and a drive-train system for OTR. This ill do away ith the need for hauling it on a trailor.
