will this plan work?
1 Attachment(s)
even though i am probably going to go with a kit for my first sub, i was wondering if these really crappy drawing that i drew will work. I guess you can call them very rough sketches.
http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=6prbwi http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=6prbsl It would be cool if they did work becuase then i would probably use them for my second sub or maybe my first one if i can't find a kit that i like. It would be great for your opinions. Thanks I'm hopefully uploading the files just incase the urls dont work. |

RE: will this plan work?
I'm not sure what the second drawing on the right represents but I think that it is the profile view of the sub. It also looks like that you are going with the classic two-prop steering system and a central prop for thrust, but I think that you could do without it. Use the two props on the side for steering and thrust, thus eliminating the need for an extra motor. If using this method, then I can agree that it looks a lot like the Megatech/Nikko/Mako sub in terms of steering. Is the motor/prop located at the top of the sub (in the second drawing) for diving purposes? I think this plan could work, you can use a PVC pipe for the main hull and maybe running the motors in the wet, or putting them in separate containers outside the hull. If you need more advices I'll be happy to give you some.

RE: will this plan work?
thanks cap!
Thats was exactly what i was thinking. I was going to use like a 3 inch pvc pip for the hull and then like 1 1/2 or 2 inch pipe to put the motors in out side the sub. i was basing the whole idea off the puddle jumper from stargate atlantis, like i had said before. while i agree witht he whole back motor being removed, i have not decided. thanks for the opinion. |
