Just found a video:

How cool is this guy :)

RE: Space Shuttle sub ?

Yep, it's quite possible yes!!! I don't understand the site but I think there an english translator site (Alta Vista Babelfish?) somewhere on the web that can translate the site. I've even seen a submarine version of the USS Enterprise from Star Trek made, it only takes a bit of imagination and originality plus a bit of ingenuity... I don't know, maybe one day they'll make a model submarine that can go into space?:D

Here is a translation I did through Babel on construction of the

Here are also some other cool things I found and pulled together so I wouldn't lose them:

Wow.... These space ships turned submarines give new meaning to the Star Trek slogan: "Space...the Final Frontier...." These submarines are way to cool to dismiss as oddities of another kind.

RE: Space Shuttle sub ?

Why don't they RC more spacecrafts into subs? Maybe some of them won't fly but underwater, anything's possible!!! Speaking of which, Space Shuttle Discovery made a safe and successful landing this morning, WOHOO!!!

RE: Space Shuttle sub ?

The shuttle has made over a 100 flights with only 2 accidents... considering the fact that a lot of parts in that thing are/were working on the borderline, its record isn't too bad!

The shuttle is the best thing that has happened to space flight since it was invented... keep it in service! Too bad it was WAY ahead of its time...

RE: Space Shuttle sub ?

My feeling is that they should work on a replacement. Esa is also working on an inhabited vehicle at the top of Ariane 5, thus reducing the risk for debris impacts... That makes sense.

Maniac05 08-19-2005 08:26 PM

RE: Space Shuttle sub ?

Yes, I would expect that from a frenchie. A replacement for the space shuttle is not necessary. There is nothing wrong with the it, it works just fine, A prime example is the landing of the Discovery. Spending more money to work on a larger and more capable vehicle is definitely necessary(for the flight to Mars, duh), but to cancel flights because of the risk of burning up in reentry or being struck by debris is stupid. The risk is no different than that taken by the first astronauts during the Mercury and Gemini programs. To drop everything and build a replacement immediatley would be giving up our heritage to those commie chinks.

Well The Space Shuttle could be the New way to Fly!

All you would need is a Black Background and it would look like it was flying in Space... underwater !

Strykaas 05-27-2006 12:32 PM

RE: Space Shuttle sub ?

a Black Background
Simply turn off the pool "aerial" lights and use some kind of underwater directional light to illuminate the sub.
