Robbe U47
I'm interested in getting the U47 by Robbe. Just wondering if anyone on here has built one - it would be my first sub so I'm happy to start with a dynamic diver. Can anyone direct me to a review or to anyones web site who has built one. Many thanks.

RE: Robbe U47
Thanks Turbulent - I've done quite a bit of research now and I've decided to take the advice I was given and start with an easier sub like the Robbe Seawolf. I got one at a local model boat event this weekend so I'll be making a start with it very soon. - Maybe after that I'll move on to the U47.

It has lots of pics and video clips including yesterday's sea trials. It was a fun build and I'm nearly done. Jason http://magpieyachts.com/building7.html http://magpieyachts.com/building8.html |

Thanks for the info Jason - You are saying that you're no expert at sub building but you're certainly an expert with the web sites - really nice modern site, a pleasure to read. I've had a bit of trouble downloading the video clip but I'll try a bit later when I've more time. Nice model anyway Jason - well done mate.

[quote]ORIGINAL: periscope Thanks for the info Jason - Thank you! I love my web site project. It and the models keep me occupied. The file size of that video is 38MB. and pretty fast. If you have dialup, you wouldn't be able to watch it. I tell you what I'll do. I'll make a small copy and put a link on the building page under the other one for dialups. Regards Jason:) |
RE: Robbe U47
Guys,
In keeping with the U-47 question, I have a question. I just purchased a U-47 and am ready to start building. I am looking for color chips or color names for Kriegsmarine WW2 U-boats. Specifically, I am looking for camo colors which appear to be a light grey overall and a darker grey for under the waterline. Then there is another type of grey that is used for stripes running at a slant vertically the length of the boat. Does anyone have any idea on colors to use? I think Model Master may have something close but for right now I am just searching for the authentic colors. Thanks! Pete |
