How deep will the shaft seals be able to keep water out before it leaks?

You know, like on the drive shafts on the sub.

It depends on the type of seal you use and how tight you you want the seal on your shaft, if you plan of packing the seal as well, how fast your shaft is coing to spin, how true your shaft runs and if you generating positive (piston tank), negative (RCABS) pressure inside your WTC. In practice I lose RC signal long before my sub leaks.

someday i'll install tanks with some ajustments.
