Wallmart sub problems
Hi all,
I just bought another seawolf and this one is having problems. Whenever i try to dive the motor gets out of range and sometimes stutters. Also when you do 2 commands like dive and go forward is both motors suppose to slow down to like 1/4 speed. And one more thing Any mods and pics would help alot. Thanks. |
RE: Wallmart sub problems
hmm..... a lot of people seem to have problems with this
sub type.... Just get a new one, I't probably not worth looking at it for hours trying to fix it. |

GreenAce, there's nothing wrong with your sub, toy subs like those can only handle so many functions at a time due to their on RC-boards. This is due to the fact that there isn't enough power coming from the batteries as the signals gets weaker from extended range, operating two motors at a time also requires a lot of input power. Many people have fixed this problem by installing batteries with a higher amp-hour rating such as 2800 mah. You can also extend the antenna for longer range. Check out the Walmart Submarine=Cool! threads for more details. |
RE: Wallmart sub problems
Well i have extended the antennae radio already with a giant 3 ft long antennae from an old rc plane transmitter of mine. IT seems to be a radio problem with the sub's circuits i think.

RE: Wallmart sub problems
The longer doesn't always mean the best reception, if the antenna is too long the signal will simply get diluted. Is the sub brand new? What other modifications have you made?

RE: Wallmart sub problems
Well i did try extending the length of the receiver wire but nothing else much. Maybe i will just scrap it and use it for an rc sub i am planning to make from recycled rc parts. Its jsut a fluke somewhere in the receiver area. My friend and i tried both transmitters and nothings wrong with them, his conneticut works great but the seawolf just.....i dont know how to say "sucks" but i mean i bought a couple of em and 1 of em that was a seawolf worked great! but the next day it sunk and i still havent found it yet after 1 year later. I did get a nice 49mhz USS shark from walmart has a rudder system worked great. Then started shorting. I dont know theres must be something like walmart always make stuff break or something so you can still buy stuff. I dont know................ Walmart is just bad for selling cheap stuff i mean i odnt know whats the big deal wow 20 dollars. Sigh............................

Sue the company!

RE: Wallmart sub problems
What frequency is your Seawolf? I find the 27Mhz sub has more problem with range.
|
RE: Wallmart sub problems
it is the 27. If i cant fix it i will scrap it and use the parts for something else. Maybe i will convert it. USe the body for a sub dynamic diver.
