Trumpeter 1/144 Seawolf conversion to RC, with homemade static ballast sytem:

(better vids to come)

And this is how I finished for the sub not having the fail safe installed yet (at least not a single drop entered the WTC):

Just give me some time, I promise to write an article about the building process.

Thanks

Fantastic. I appluad your simple and elegent work.
I am putting the same in my Robbe Seawolf.
I first saw a water pump/bladder bag system for the Robbe SeaWolf from a guy called Big Sax.

Yours adds the air draw system...very ingenious.
Cheers.

RE: My SSN22 first sea trial

AND CHEAP, YOU CAN BUILD IT FOR A FEW BUCKS!

Here I explain it, in Spanish, sorry, but you can see how it works: the tiny tube (the "secret" of this system) attached to the bag lets the air be pumped in and out but once submerged, it collapses when blowing the tank, this way releasing ballast and making the sub surface. Once on the surface, air is picked and the pump releases the rest of the ballast (if you want to completely surface, maybe you want to remain and periscope depth).

The system was upgraded using a one way aquarium valve that lets water be pumped out when the bag is full, in order to keep the hydraulic circuit pressure low.

I had designed it years ago, just by curiosity and imagination, even when I didn't have a RC sub. The theory predicted it was going to work, AND IT WORKS.

Thanks
Robert
