Hey, you're not the only one experimenting. Looks good. I put together 9 houses in a hurry for our shindig on the 13th. Just used a Pershing and T-34 for a rough size guide and made an assortment of small villiage buildings out of foamcor and tape. I made them so that the end walls fold in for travel and for assembly simply fold out and push in two wire rods at the opposit ends and set the roof on top. No damage....will wait 'til we see if we have a a location to meet, then some some better ones. For our initial meet, think these will do. Since this photo, I have added two more.

Thanks, like I wrote, this was a hurry-up affair and I decided on a small Eastern European village.

Steve and Pattoncommander, Nice work on your battlefield buildings guys.Taking it a step further by making them collapsible for transport is a neat idea
as some vehicles don`t have much space for more than three or four large cartons/buildings.I also like steve`s idea of damaged/burned buildings for that
battlefield scenario.

Charlie, Talk about space....I drive a Scion and have 14 tanks, controllers etc to carry...need all the space I can get. [&:] The fold up houses were no option. I normally carry my tanks is plastic storage tubs....3-4 to a tub with rods halfway to stack, but even that gets cramped. [:@] Later, damaged houses can be made, and these would probably only have 2-3 incomplete walls. Once we lock down a permanent place, that stuff can stay there and we can make better stuff. I dig the idea of using cardboard boxes....lots cheaper but not as sturdy as foamcor.

well i started making some dirt mounds that i want to load up with trees for cover... Should i do this on each side of my table and put the houses in stuff in the center?
Well here is what i got for now.
eventually i want to make some slight elevations on the table so it's not 100% flat.

More updates !! Now i did the right side all dirt with some interlocking tan EVA foam squares.
I put stuff under it and nailed it down so they is uneaven turrain on this whole area.
Only thing i don't like you can see where the foam stuff interlocks ..but i may do something to fix that in the future.

I am going to try and make a bridge for the back there by the big wide body of water in the back of the table.

Steve, Great work on your battlefield.Anyone can see that this effort takes a lot of time and patience, especially when you`re building everything from
scratch as you go along.Keep those pix coming as you progress.I`ll probably see you at the battlefield Sunday, the 14th of Nov.

Have you considered using real dirt to cover your table?
