KV-1 Facelift (without the fire wood)
I just completed the final touches on my KV.
It started as a Yellowshaker original with ElMod electronics.
I've added some stowage, replaced the headlight with Tamiya part, added the tail light.
I also added oil tanks, periscopes and replaced the plastic engine grills with metalgrills.
Here are some pics.....

very welldone!
just a piece of little observation... you couldhardly find KVs with a lot of wood in theback of it... this was not the practice as photos show...

Hi Jim,
The KV looks good. I can't wait until the next NEAD battleday so I can poke some ventilation holes in it with my Panther. Our next event may be indoors with Air Conditioning....Brrrrr.

Guys, with all respect to your experience,
but just keep in mind if you gonna build the model of historical prototype you need to find the photo evidence of THAT MACHINE that you are building.
Buckeye36 has KV-1 with extra Armour (in oficilly named as KV1E or KV ODIN S EKRANAMI)...It is of July 1941 (according to some sources of information). Telling you more it was the after production upgrade. In August this program was stopped already. You can hardly find KV1E with wood that time... If you find, please share this photo.
But the photos of KVs with wood by Airbrushler do not show KV1E... so just be precise, in your good job. I guess it is KV1S - another modification of legendary tank, but from 1942.
With regards

That is a neat site.......very interesting photos. There was one that surprised me......a photo of what I am told is a big no-no for tanks........a chain hanging on the front of the glacis.
