Gregg, man, you are coing along at leaps and bounds on weathering. Now that looks like a Russian tank and looks very real. What did you use for mud...or is that what it is? The tow cables you may want to snug down in the middle..they are stiff, but also very heavy, so would not be standing up that high.
Not much we can do about it, but those tracks were super heavy and had a prominent sag between return rollers. Shame , but the lighter tacks on models prevent carrying realism that far outside of placing smaller rollers to push the tracks down at those points. . Nice idea on the stowage box...looks good. Any reason for the ropes? From what I understand, Russian tanks didn't carry much on board and had to live off the land.

PC, it's not Gregg. LOL But thanks for the kind words. I did this KV as a loner, lost from it's comrads and fending for itself in the harsh winter. The mud is not real mud, but effects done using plaster of paris and Mig weathering earth effects anddark mud efeects. The tracks are actually metal and are heavy, but for proper running, it tightened the tensioners and so they do not sag so much. the ropes are holding the ariel flag on the back and maybe there for a just in case situation...if they find something they need aloing the way.

oops, misplaced my ID code book comrade. Nevertheless, that's a great technique for mud...looks very realistic.
Gregg, you have a great role model to copy. I dig the stowage boxes...lots of work but worth the effort.

Yea and getting knocked out at that,I had at that time a elevation malfunction and couldn't depress the gun so with the gun in the elevation position I was left no choice.

I wouldn't say that at all. That is just done in a different way. I think it looks very realistic. the weathering is done very well on that beast. Gotta love the look of a KV that's been through some stuff!
What did you use for the whitewash? I like the effect.

i just use watered down acrylics from the dollar store i do all the painting with those, i figure i'm not going to have my tanks get wet in the rain or anything
