Ultimate Sherman books?
This might be of interest to a seriously diehard, nit pickin', rivet counting Shermaholic. I already have a dozen or more Sherman books, but this is tempting ...... but it ain't gonna be cheap!

$55 is not bad for a good reference.
Most of JJ Fedo books start in the 90s and they're well worth it.

Yeah, but they are coming out with 4 books eventually. Too rich for my blood, I would want the set. I'm glad I got my Hunnicutt book when it was under $100 ......I have seen it priced at over $600. Added together, all of my Sherman books approach the price of the model!

If you have a copy of the Hunnicut book, you don't need these.
I know what you mean, for what I have invested in German armor references I could buy a squadron of Tamiya JS-2s.

RE: Ultimate Sherman books?
There's a pretty good description of the first two volumes here: http://www.network54.com/Forum/47208...s+and+buffs%21
It looks like Volume 1 is the references book, while Volume 2 is the modeling book. The original book, at 117 pages, is already a great reference by itself; so I would imagine that this updated set would be a good stand-alone reference for someone not wanting to invest in a lot of different boks.

I bought Osprey's "Modeling the Panther Tank" which really helped with each version of the Panther Tank.
Look for the Sherman from them. They are relatively inexpensive.

Hoboy...
I searched for this at the Chapters, and stumbled onto this - its a Haynes repair manual for the Sherman! They are making them for lots of things, especially the WW2 stuff. I'd post the ISBN for it, but Chapters dinna list it. Showed one for the Jeep too... neat huh?
http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/books/...n&ikwsec=Books
And for those interested in the Russian M4's, the book by that Russian tank vet is there too: "Commanding the Red Armys Sherman Tanks: The World War II Memoirs of Hero of the Soviet Union Dmitriy Loza"
No listing for these books though, will check at the hobby shop that usually carries 'em. Wanted to see if they have that new solvent-glue dropper as well, just for laughs.
And interestingly, they had used copies of Hunnicutt listed, cheapest was $263 and change, #2 was $280... not bad for a rare book of its type.
