Default Canadian Leopard 2A6M CAN ( Afganistan )

Hi all, here is my Leopard, I spent the better part of a year on it and I wish I could do a better job on pictures but I seem to wash out the colours no matter what I do.
It runs great and is very smooth. I probably will take a year to get used to its power and speed compared to my Pershing and Bulldog.
I am currently working on a Hooben T-55, the boddy and running gear is totally finished but I being held up by some electronics and broken Hooben parts.

Looks great. I started building a refurbished 2 A 4, but put it aside to work on some other stuff first. I wish someone would make the slat armor in 1/16 scale. I tried to do it with styrene but it was only OK at a distance.

I have looked at the slat armour from many pictures but have doubted my ability to create it
Here are a few pictures taken by an aquaintence of mine who was a war correspondent in Afganistan. ( Murray Brewster Defence Correspondent. The Canadian Press )
I thank him for his help in choosing how to finish my Leopard.

nice work...well done.  Bar armor would be tough to do and keep the spacing right.

For slat armor you need a rig/jig.

Awesome looking tanks!

Everyone knows that the Coleman cooler likes shade to help keep the the beer cool.( Only in Canada EH ! )
Everyone also knows that the people of ice and snow need shade to keep their aim straight.
We had a highly spirited auction between un-named countries for the sun shades when the Leopards moved from the area. ( ?? )

If I could go back in time to the late 60's I would take 2 with me to attach to the Centurian, a litlle less sweat is good for everyone.

Sure, I might want that extra armor if I was sitting in the tank myself, but seriously, I think you should be glad you doubted your ability & didn't try to create the slat armor ... it's just about the ugliest looking bolt on eye-sore I've seen on a modern tank,
& your tank looks great the way it is now!

Hey, maybe it's just me, but I really don't like the look of it at all .... bad enough when just some is put on, but when fully decked out it looks like it's being crated up for shipping, LOL !!!!

I'm only joking with ya

We deployed from Germany in March of '03 to Iraq. When we left it was 30f we landed at 110F not fun! It actually felt hotter at night when the tank sweated.

Me to!!

The closest I got to + 110 deg. F on and in an armoured vehicle was -39 deg. F

Totally different story, the 4 feet of snow gave us more trouble then the cold but you soon learned not to touch any of the steel with any part of your damp body ( OOPPSS!! )

Have a nice day
