I was getting towards the finish of yet another Sherman, just the weathering to do. Then I went and put some nice new tracks on her....

Looks great. Where did you get them and will they mate up with the Mato duck bills?

Dave(forgebear) has them. They came with sprockets that will fit a HL Sherman without modifying the shafts as well...although I used some I had already to fit them to a Mato chassis.
...and I don't think the duckbills will fit.

Hold fire, Herman. A little bird told me they may be doing some with duckbills soon.

OOOOOOH. I guess I will have to get a set of those also. I hope they fit the Mato sprockets and metal suspension.

Yes, they will Herman. The ones I got came with a sprocket for a HL, but I put them on a Mato chassis using the Mato metal sprocket.

That's why I said "Make 'em fit!" as I am doing now... deconstructing and making them right.

Isn't THAT what we do? Not just settling for "still better than nothing", I won't hang on a part on unless it's right.

Unfortunately I have neither the patience or skillset to model like that, so I afraid "better than nothing" has to do

Well I don't think what I am doing has anything to do with skills or modeling, just figured out a way to make it right... or better than this.

On the other hand, you my friend have done some modeling things I could only dream about doing. There's where the 'skills' are at.

I think thats the beauty of this hobby, Jeff. We all have different skills and goals. It's funny because what one of us thinks is easy, someone else looks at in awe. I have no metalwork skills what so ever, so when like yourself, someone says something like "I'm just reworking these tracks" I have to take my hat off to you.
