Default Budget easy 8

This build started out as an experiment to see if I could build a HVSS'ed Sherman without having the expense of Tamiya gearboxes/tracks/sprockets.
Ive managed to marry up some secondhand HVSS units to a HL Sherman lower hull, HL gearboxes, HL Pershing sprockets/tracks, HL Sherman upper hull and a Mato turret.
Luckily I had a lot of the parts already, but in all, so far the whole project has probibly cost less than a SINGLE Tammy gearbox

Looks good I like the idea of Pershing sprockets/tracks on the Sherman, how much work was it to put the gear boxes in and what kind did you use ?? (HL Persing gear boxes?)

Thanks

As I used the HL lower hull the HL gearboxes fitted straight in as all the fixings are already there, I used the short shaft boxes and it all lines up which was a suprise LOL.
@ Dan, My LHS has rod which is a steel rod covered in plastic, perfect.

That looks really good. Think i would like to make one like that. I built an M4A3E2 Jumbo using the Mato ,ower with the Tamiya upper and reworked Mato turret,it came out pretty well. I was wondering which varient i wanted to do when I get my HL Sherman and i think I found it. My son really likes the E8 HVSS system so I may build this one for him.
