Hey,
Any of you with airsoft tanks ever try using the 6mm paintballs? Did they work or just jam? Any comments/thoughts would be great.
I got three Taigen Airsoft.

I have been asked this question at least 100 times.... From a company standpoint we don't recommend them. They can cause problems if they burst and you know the rest. We do not cover any problems if they are used in our airsoft units.
Now that being said, they are cheap and easily replaceable. A unit cost about $10 and can be swapped in under 5 minutes on most tanks. If you break a paintball in the tank you can just open the turret, push the airsoft motor out, replace the plastic firing unit, then reassemble. You can then clean or throw away the other unit later if you wish. You will have to clean that barrel just in case, you can do this while you have the airsoft unit out anyways. So if you are prepared to spend some time figuring out what works best with what then it is totally possible. I have heard both success and failures on the paintball end. Just be careful and make sure not to shoot anyone/anything ok?

I have used Paintballs in these tanks. Biggest fear and issue is if a paintball breaks in the chamber. This has not happened to me.
Be warned that with a stock gun you have to be with 10 m to get a good break with the paintball. Anything over that and there is a chance the paintball will just deflect without breaking.

Best chance to break the paintball using a stock gun was with the PZIII (most powerful gun available, due to the short barrel). But the airsoft guns could be made more powerful by shimming or replacing the internal spring and by replacing the barrel with a tighter one cut from spare airsoft ones (and by discarding the stock BBs for something more professional).

LOL you could PolarStar a Jagdtiger / JadgPanther easily. It would be a true TD for sure. With a 300-500 fps .40g bb it would easily punch through a Sherman. Those poor all plastic HL tanks would be fodder.

We have an airsoft 450 fps sniper rifle here and MAN does it hurt. I couldn't imagine a metal bb haha.

try the marking bbs instead...less risk of breaking. somehing like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Crosman-Ma...000ct/15103407

I assure you you would not get away so easily.
That is the main concern about airsoft BB's. especially airsoft paint balls.

And we would see just how fast you could escape a tank meeting just after you started punching holes through other peoples models when so many put many hours in customizing and painting down to the last detail.

Oh yeah, I have a Thompson replica in that fps range. The only time I fired at someone they were running across the yard about 80 feet away and a short burst left them with welts.

Never shot at a person or anybodies tank but I straight up murder empty pop cans.

Erik , same question that I asked ausf ; what is the model/maker of your airsoft sniper - thanks . Just picked up a Panzer IV 161/1 winter camo ; very cool . I can't get the glow in the dark BB's to glow. Put them in the sun all day long and nothing ? Lastly , I also picked up a "quick charger " and set it on 4A . 15 minutes . Hobby shop guy claims it is safe ?

Mine is just one of the sniper rifles we sell here at IMEX. It is spring loaded. I'm not a big fan of having to go buy gas cartridges. As for the battery 4A seems kinda high for a NIMH battery. If it is a Lipo it shouldnt be too much of an issue. Can you get me some specs on the battery? I never charge more than 1C unless it is on my high current batteries for the cars.

You also have the option of LIPO batteries too. A simple LVA/LVC on a 2 cell LIPO (or 3 cell LIFE battery would probably be closer to stock voltage) will monitor voltages for you and alert you when it gets low. A lipo of the same mAh will most likely be a lot smaller and powerful than the stock NIMH battery. It will also last a lot longer

Hey there,
I haven't personally tried using 6mm paintballs in my airsoft tanks, but I've heard mixed opinions about them. Some players have mentioned that they can cause jamming issues due to the slightly larger size compared to traditional airsoft BBs. It might be worth testing a few rounds to see how they perform in your Taigen Airsoft tanks. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I've used them, I think I even have a video somewhere. I've never had any problem with them breaking inside the air soft gun, but I did have a problem finding airsoft guns with enough power to make the paintball break on impact. If you guys are interested I'll see if I can dig out the video when I get home from work. Now, my 1/6 Hetzer shoots .50 caliber paintballs, and that's an entirely different animal.
