April Battleday at Danville
UPCOMING BATTLEDAY!
APRIL 17, 18, 19, 2015
AAF Tank Museum, Danville
Hosting Club: H*E*A*T
Battle Style: TFA on all tanks, (tank hunters AND turreted tanks will use the modified apple mirror).
Other rules: No formal inspections, but please have stock or historical set-ups.
Flash visible, good volume, and apple not obstructed.
We play through any spontaneous resets.
Fan shots are a moot issue since everyone is TFA.
PLEASE REPLY TO LET US KNOW IF YOU CAN COME!

Sorry still new to this. What and how is a modified apple mirror? I'm hoping to make it for Sat and maybe Sun. But not sure what a modified apple is or how to do it.

I'm up - Friday, Saturday and Sunday, though I may have to leave earlier on Sunday.
Looking for a room mate to bunk with as well for both nights - Dave?
This video gives a good demonstration of the modified apple mirror, also known as TFA (Tamiya Frontal Armor). By opening the top of a Tamiya apple and clipping off two small plastic tabs, you can turn the mirror pyramid within by 45 degrees therefore altering the invulnerability sectors of your tank.

If the wife starts making noises, hug her and tell her she is beautiful. If she starts to growl, retreat to a safe distance and throw chocolate to her. No advice on the Army.

I can't make this one guys. I will be at a funeral for my favorite uncle. Sadly family health issues have consumed the past 3 weeks. I haven't eve had time to unpack my Suburban from the last AAF trip. That never happens. I am sure HEAT will show all attending a great time.

It was the best weekend of battling in the history of Danville!
Well, probably not but there were some good ones.
We had a modest turn out of 16 tankers, including HEAT vets Mike D and Scott H. and a few 1st timers including Shannon from Greensboro.
Some competitive battles including some 8 vs 8, and 4 teams of 4 on the field at the same time.
But I think the most fun was on Sunday when we battled while standing on a raised platform at one end of the field.
(the platform was part of a bradley fighting vehicle trainer)
This gave a new perspective to the field and an added challenge of a fixed POV, creating a more video game-like experience.
Leong took a video, so maybe he can post when he gets a minute.
Not much action by the pool for choir practice however, which I know is Bret's main concern.
