Default ACE/AAF Danville R/C tank event. Sept. 18-20 2015!!

Get your tanks up to snuff and your hotel rooms if needed tankers!! ACE and the AAF will be hosting this event which means adrenaline filled RT campaigns!! We'll also be running more basic team deathmatch battles early and late in the day/evening. We'll have quick inspections that will include:

Taking and giving hits.
Tank dies according to class.
Emitter tube is stock tamiya dimensions. No greater than 6mm ID, 9mm to bulb tip or greater.
Speed check with a +/- of 2mph on road speeds. (of course not very worried about the minus.)

Stock apple configuration with exception of fixed structure tanks can fight TFA.

Here are links to the schedule, an overview of the RT campaigns, and AAF tank museums website.
Lets start a head count and get this weekend fired up for some great trigger time and fun with friends.

Hey Shannon, I suggest you read through the Rolling Thunder .pdf a few times that Brett posted above.
When ACE hosts, the battles are a lot more structured than the other times you have been there.
There are added elements like minefields, refueling, vehicle recoveries, and a strict command structure.
The more you understand before it starts, the better.
Feel free to ask any questions!

He He, that is the "cheat sheet." Don't worry Shannon, it all makes sense once we do our briefing and you run it once or twice.

If I were not to be in Winchester Virginia, RVing at the Battle Of Kernstown, I'd be there for this. Too many hobbies and too few dollars to chase them. I had to chose visiting two War For Southern Independence battles. I chose the one that Jackson took the day. Danville Virginia has so much history as the areas around it. Bedford Virginia has the D Day Memorial. Am awesome place to visit to honor our American / British forefathers. Folks, you need to visit Danville!

Just a heads up, if your planning on coming to the Sept event you can now print out the registration form and fill it out beforehand (just remember to bring it with you.) Just go to the tankace link at the bottom of this post and scroll down to the Sept event link, then scroll down again to find downloads of the form.

Finally planning a visit to go down to Danville to see the museum and watch some tank battles this September weekend.

Any suggestions on whether the Red Carpet Inn, right there close by the museum on 29, is safe enough and OK for a one night stay???

Or, just looking at Google maps and images, maybe it's just called the Danville Inn now and not Red Carpet, or was the Danville Inn and is now Red Carpet

~ Craig ~

Can't speak to the Red Carpet Inn.
We mostly stay at the Comfort Inn.
If you mention that you are with the Museum, you get a discount.

Looking forward to meeting you Craig. You won't be disappointed! I always stay at the Comfort Inn on tower drive, but some also stay at the Danville Inn. After we close down the Museum we all hang around the pool (or someones room if cold/rainy) at the Comfort Inn for some beverages and talk about the days battles.

The "War for Southern Independence"? That speaks volumes about who you are, and I like it. You're my kinda Reb, Bubba.

Up here some of us like to say, "Yankee by birth, Rebel by choice".

I like trucks too, so if you get lots of photos and videos of them I'll be a happy camper.
