What is this tank or vehicle?
Lived around here for over 20 years, and never noticed this "tank" at a SC National Guard Armory only about 3 miles from my house. Not sure what it is. As a static vehicle, I was amazed at what good shape it is in from the outside. Appears to be fully intact. Has twin guns from the turret.
And, do they make r/c models of this?

[QUOTE=purgatory;12115304]So even though it looks like a tank, its not really a tank? Still learning. I was in the Navy, not the Army, no tanks there, lol.[/QUOTE
Technically speaking, the Navy does have tanks. They let those guys called Marines drive them around.
I thought there was a rule that sailors had to build ship models.

Built ship models for years, finally tired of them. Now I am all about r/c tanks and military vehicle models. Already eyeing a 2nd r/c tank. But still having a blast with my 1/16th Early Tiger Metal tank

You can stay Navy with airplanes like the F4U Corsair or the turbine powered F-18 Hornet.

M42 Duster is based on the M41 Bulldog...nearly the same thing minus the turrets.
No RC models of it, but you could do a scratch build using HL's M41. I think Honeycutt's book has some good info about it.

I've driven a Duster at the Fort Snelling Military Museum in Minneapolis before it closed. Great fun to drive...cold blooded as hell though.

The "predecessor" of the M42 was the M19 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M19_Mu...Motor_Carriage
Interesting history on it's development.

Thanks for posting that. The M19 looks very interesting and I wasn't aware of it. I have always thought about doing a Duster, and I think I gotta do some more research on this conversion. It's different and I like that kind of stuff.

If anyone is interested in the Duster, I took a slew of pictures of the one near my house, including a walk around video clip in HD. Be happy to share or send with any interested party.
