When I was a kid, once the cartoons were over late Saturday morning, you went outside. If you didn't go outside, your parents shut you up by starting a hobby. Then as an adult, you want to relive that simple time, build a model, race a slot car, etc.
Today's kids are entertained 24/7. They don't want or need a hobby.
Besides the fact that anyone now could pick up a $50 drone and fly it from the get go via Phone when back in the day, RC flying was a true commitment that required time and multiple trips to a LHS for parts and advice.
