$499 is a great price for that kit seeing that a 1/16 static Tamiya Jagdpanther is retail cost of $534. I know street price is much lower, but $499 is retail for the Dragon kit.

Thanks for sharing Jeff. It would be cool to R/C one of these. It has nice detail as well. Not a bad price for a 1/6 scale model that could be R/C'ed up.

Seems like I've seen one of these Dragon 1/6 Shermans before...
The Dragon Sherman IS pretty big and impressive.

These have been on the market in one shape or form since 2012. As for RCing one that's a lot harder then it looks. These kits are designed from the get go to be static, and this shows in the model's running gear. FOA does make a rc conversion set which has nice tracks, a gearbox, and sprockets. IMO where the set can use some improvement is in the VVSS suspension. To save on costs he uses a lot of steel stamping for the swing arms and other VVSS parts. They look to work well, but for detail hurt the look of the tank. His set also runs about 2K which is another thing that tends to change people's minds, as they can also get a vantex for around the same price. However IMO For a running conversion it's the best option on the market, and performs much better then the home grown alternatives that I have seen.
As for price the static kits run about $400.00 which for 1/6 is on the affordable end, as when you start looking for RC tanks in this scale outside of the 21C stuart, you will be unable to find anything below 2K

Dragon advertised a release of a Firefly version that never came out. Some sites had a prebuy option. Maybe with this release if it does well they will? The first one was a 105mm Sherman but includes the tube and mantlet for the 75mm. I was thinking about putting the top half of one of this on my Vantex Sherman. Trying to RC this I think would be tough but definitely worth the challenge. My thought would be to recast all the suspension, stiffen the chassis and of course make new tracks. The upper half could stay plastic as all the stress is in the bottom half. FOA has a T23 option too for making it a M4A3 (76mm).
Maybe they will release more 1/6 kits? I have the jeep also. Even for a static display it would be impressive.
