Default 1/16 Ural Truck

Hello! I was browsing ebay when I discovered this. After some more searching I've found rather little about it, as various google searches just come up with results relating to the Cross RC urals and or various home made ones. But this one seems to be 1:16 scale. And from photos I've found it seems to have it's own semi unique set up compared to the WPL/HL trucks; as the axles look different and the drive line seems to have nicer angles. But if you search RC Ural on ebay then various listing appear, most at about the 60 usd price point.

Just ordered mine - I have a couple of the other type of 6wd truck and they are great fun for the price - can be upgraded, weathered etc so all good. Lets hope they keep rolling them out.

Oh! That will look good next to my Leopard 2A6. Somebody in China knows how to get into my wallet.

I ordered one a few weeks ago but did not know about the M.A.N. 6WD. That's great news!

Gee... I gotta order shelving from China now.

Yeah they're single speed. Multi speed transmissions are rarely found in vehicles smaller than one of the 1/14 scale Tamiya semi trucks. With these trucks they're more about scale appearance than performance, although upgrades are available.

There is a two speed tranny for the WPLs though. I just bought one. Haven't installed it yet, but from all accounts it's a decent motor/tranny combo from the reviews.

Default helifar HB - NB2805

I'm curious about that RC truck, the WPL B24 is plagued with problems even after upgrading it. And it's a shame, I would love to get a 1/16 scale truck/crawler that's reliable and goes with my T-90s.

The Helifar seems to be based on the same chassis as the 1 : 16 zil from JJRC. From what I can tell it should have stronger steering, although if you do not mind custom work then you could use higher grade electronics, as I'm sure it should have room.

Oh yeah, without a question I knew either way these kind of trucks would need electronic upgrades and parts too, it's just that WPL B1 & B24 even had problems after they were upgraded. Which is why I'm hoping that this truck would be a better step up from those 1/16 trucks.
Does that make sense?

Yeah that makes sense. But most of these trucks are the same basic parts with minor changes. A number of their problems come from the soft plastics used on the axles and related parts. A problem found even in some 2 to 300 dollar rc trucks. But what kind of problems are you having with the upgrade examples? Just slop in the fitments of parts or issues related to performance?
