Paco, that's the same Will that's in our little group on skype. And I got your email, I'm just really, really lazy. I'll try to get to that tonight.

Going to be wicked

I've had my 3d printer about 2 weeks now, and it's running almost 24 hours a day churning out stuff for me. It's great. I'm working on a multi part design now that will take weeks to print out. So much fun. Can't wait to show off my results.

I looked at the CAD file and it seems like it will work to me. I'm still designing and printing my project, so I haven't had time to print the Horch. I will though, as soon as I have enough of my thing built to show off. Running the printer 24 hours a day now, printing parts to my kit. Happy with the fit and function so far. Still some parts to design.

So I'm hoping someone here might have the answer to a couple of questions about sla printers. I'm told I can now get a 4k mono screen for my wanhao d8 printer. What exactly does mono mean? What are the advantages? If the new screens are called Mono, what do they call the screen that's in there now? I'm totally lost, so any help any of you guys can give would be much appreciated. Should I invest the money and get the mono screen or just put in the new replacement screen? Is the mono screen going to be that much better that I really notice a huge difference?

Gary,
Mono means single color vs all color LCD display. Color display for resin curing are a waste of energy due to fact that resin only cure at 450nm. All other "color" wavelenghts are wasted, not used for resin curing. The mono 2K or 4K are much less exposure time per layer = way faster print times. 2K or 4K refer to screen resolution, 4K is highest pixel count possible (and highest price). 2K should be more than enough for resin printing. I get great print results with my orginal color LCD, but the print times can be 8-9 hours. With a mono color screen the same model can be printed in 1/2 to 2/3 less time (~2-3 hours).
Hope that helps - may be a repeat of ytube vid.

Some great work on here. I decided to design up the Wehrmacht in 12th scale to match most of my airplanes scale. Starting with the Hetzer then Stug then..... Will take years to do all of them I want to, but that's of the point lol. Pic is how far I've gotten in a couple weeks hobby time. Not shown in the pic is all the screws, bearings, gears etc are all in the design too. Each leaf in the spring packs are individual etc. and will make it as scale as my skills and reference material allow. I've got a scale final drive and will use a single motor driving through a differential and steering brakes like the real thing. Diff is a R/C 4x4 monster truck part. All the details will be DLP/SLA printed, and the hull will be FDM printed.

Nice work Spinnetti. Would like to see more. Hetzer is looking great. 1/12 is a bit of an odd scale. But Roc Hobby just made an awesome little jeep in 1/12 so who knows. The scale of the future?

If 1/12 scale does become the scale of the future I know at least a few guys who are very into 1/10 scale who might suddenly be struck with exploding head syndrome.

It looks like 1/12 is the new action figure scale. I search for 1/6 scale figures for my RC vehicles (because running a jeep or halftrack with no driver just doesn't seem right) and many of the sights that sell 1/6 stuff now have a lot of 1/12 scale figures and accessories for sale.
