Yep, I got the e-mail too.
Wonder how much it will cost.

I have to say a Sheridan would 1) not have been my first guess as to their next model and 2) my last choice for their next model.
My perception is although the full size machine was /is interesting to a degree it wasn't really a smashing success as a weapons system..
I'm happy for those who are really buzzed over this.

It says on the AAF website...
"Tamiya 1/16th Radio Control M551 Sheridan Tank - Preorder"

I know what their site says, I can read. I was just saying the Manufacturer website, who in the past has put up some sort of pictures or announcement, doesnt have anything listed.

Usually the vendor is notified first before Tamiya lists it and you can bank on them (AAF Museum) being correct.

For sure dealing with Tamiya USA for help on the Tamiya Abrams build and trouble shooting the electronics issues is something I would not want to do again, LOL, a huge time bandit effort. The trust is long gone.

I've seen it listed in the tamiyablog website. The Nuremberg toy fair is next weekend, so we'll probably see pics then.

Sometimes I don't understand Tamiya marketing. An M60 or T-54/55 would have been more appealing to me. Heck even a Bradley would be cool. The Sheridan is a definite "Meh" - esp at Tamiya prices. Unless it comes with some new features? Even If I even wanted one, I'd wait for the $200 Heng long copy.

Agreed...it's kind of a weird choice.

“I want a 1/16th scale M551 Sheridan”, said no one ever.
That being said, if Tamiya doesn’t make it, then it is likely that no volume manufacturer ever would.
It would be interesting to see where this armored fighting vehicle would fit in the scheme of IR battling - with a scale 70kph, with next to no armor, it’s likely to be Tamiya’s first light tank - would it simply operate on the Light tank setting on the DMD, or would there be some other additional quirks?

He used to be a crewman on one.
